TITLE: Routing and Processor Allocation on a Hypercycle Based Multiprocessor AUTHORS: N. J. Dimopoulos, S. Radhakrishnan and D. Radvan IN: Proceedings of ICSC'91, 1991 International Conference on Supercomputing, Cologne, Germany, June. 1991, pp. 105 - 114 ABSTRACT In this work, we present a brief overview of the Hypercycles which is a class of multidimensional graphs. These graphs can be usded to structure Concurrent Multiprocessor systems so as to best match the requirements of a given application. We present the back-track-to-the-origin-and-retry routing as applied to Hypercycles as well as its performance evaluation based on simulations. Also, we present a First Fit processor allcation strategy for Hypercycle - based Multiprocessors, and prove that such a strategy is statically optimal. Finally we discuss the implementation of a router component for the back-track-to-the-origin -and-retry routing
